Message Dusty, please forward this to the MKIV list for me, as I think you and I
both owe some explanation to the world for this milestone... As usual, I
will make my one reply to all of the misinformation... ha

Hi Guys, thanks for all of the emails and calls regarding this week's record
setting runs.... This has been a joint project between PHR and MVP for
some time, and kept well under wraps until now it seems. Just to clear
things up, PHR sold the silver race car (the silver bullet) recently so
that we can concentrate on customer projects instead of our own racing
program.. no time to do both these days. And anyway, this new car would
make the silver bullet look like a slow pig with time to spare. However,
we did learn alot from the silver bullet, much of which is incorporated
into this next generation car. We even tried the same turbo system on this
car, but it was too ridiculous to even be labeled a "street" car with the
turbo sticking out of the hood. :-) Our runs this week were just the
beginning, the car ran in the 8's with ease, on the fifth pass ever made,
and on the low boost setting to top that off. We expect some lower slips
to follow shortly once we all clean out our underwear. I believe we
secured the lowest ET, highest MPH, lowest 1/8 ET, highest 1/8 MPH, and
lowest 60' records for a stock body/chassis, full interior, **no NOS**, heavy
ass Supra this week.. so that's now first in the 9's and first in the
8's.. Not to mention we now have the "most powerful 2JZ engine on the
planet" record fully secured again after last week's dyno session. My dyno
is due a vacation after the flogging we dished out for three days
straight. We are still picking up pieces of rubber 300 yards away from the
dyno bay (sorry Jim, your car managed to stop some of the lower flying
chunks). Now I can truly say that a Dynojet Dyno *will* read above 1200
RWHP for a short period of time. To see this record breaking dyno just
go to [ http://www.mvpmotorsports.com ] . We are scrambling to post a video
of the runs as well. Look for some more interesting things to come from
both MVP and Powerhouse in the near future. At this level, I dont know of
many or any true "street" cars with a full interior and glass that run
squarely in the 8's, although the car is registered, inspected, and
"could" be driven on the street legally with the addition of a muffler.
Ha ha. Perhaps we are pushing the definition of "street", but hey 8's
is pushing it anyhow for a full independent suspension car so why not.
BTW, methanol in any form is not unlawful for street driven vehicles,
in fact the future of automotive engineering is going toward alternative
fuels. Does anyone stop to think what gasohol is in the major cities?
Yes, its a gasoline and methanol mixture that much of the US currently
uses. Go figure. Dusty and I are already planning a nitro burning 2JZ
street car that will run 6.50's.... just kidding, I think 8's is about
fast enough for a street car. But, we were considering running in
reverse so that we can compete for that $25,000 purse in June for the
FWD class. So, again everyone thanks for your emails and calls today...
stay tuned. Also take a look at the next Turbo magazine issue due out
soon, more details will follow. Can't wait for Vegas this year!

And now to Paul (someone always has to be a whiner), as one of my employees
told you twice today when you called to poke for information, the car runs
on a MIXTURE of methanol.. something about 12 injectors and dual fuel
systems makes this car really unique from an engineering perspective. Try
tuning that Motec.. BTW, we do not run NOS and we are still on the same
engine as when we started 98 dyno pulls and one torturous track day
ago.... better get busy rebuilding my friend if you plan to knock on our
back door. :-) Jeff has that crank for you and I have **another** set of
pistons if you need them... NOS does a great job of burning up engines,
not to mention it also makes much more power and lowers your intake
temperature MUCH more than methanol. Hope you got your converter issues
resolved with your powerglide also, if you need any help please let me
know as we now have 1.35 sixty foot times on low boost. Have fun in
the nine's, we got tired of that three years ago... :-)
